FEBRUARY TESTING POST: IT STILL HAS CARS AND SNOW

SCENARIO 1
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've not found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.


'Do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?! Did you read the manual?...

...do you even have a driving license?

SCENARIO 2
We hope you arrived in warm clothing because if not you'll sure be in for a surprise!



Hinoto-Ri is covered in snow! First you show up in a strange new place and now you're freezing cold. Maybe it's just a dream? But...you remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? Is this the city you're supposed to save?

[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

[ And then one high school age boy enters stage left with a shout, running as fast as he can and doing his best to dodge around any other pedestrians - demon, human or otherwise.

But what is he running from? To most people, it won't look like anything at all - maybe they'll feel a passing wind, but it won't look like a thing. But to anyone particularly sensitive to the supernatural (or, perhaps, who is supernatural), well -- they might just see some sort of cranky Oni chasing after him.

Unfortunately, it's pretty icy and snowy out there, so Takashi is bound to lose his footing at some point - if so, watch out! He just might slide right into you...

But even if he doesn't, maybe you can be nice and help him escape! Give him a place to hide or direct him to the nearest shrine... If that doesn't suit you, then perhaps just meet him there. He'll skid into the shrine, panting and exhausted from his run, but safe for the moment, at least.

Man, can't he ever catch a break, even in another world? ]

[Minako was just out on her way to do some shopping today, not really paying attention to where she's going, until she hears the sound of running feet at high speed. She looks over to see a boy dashing along the icy sidewalk in her direction, headed straight for a particularly slippery patch.]

Hey, look -

[But before she can really warn him it's already over. He's hit the ice and slides straight at her. Minako manages to hold out her arms to try and soften the blow but he still slams directly into her with a heavy whoomph.

Most of the air is knocked out of Minako, and it's very possible she ends up in the snow herself.]

Uaaaaah!

[ Welp, down they go into the snow!

Whooomph, indeed.

Mildly dazed, Natsume lies on top of her for a second or two before he realize what he's done, and then he quickly scrambles off. He tries to stand up only to slip on the ice and fall on his butt again. ]

A - s-sorry! Are you all right?

[ Well, at least he's pretty chagrined about his clumsiness! ]

[At least he had a pretty soft landing... She's clutching her head as she sits up. After the incident over Christmas, she'd gotten a better, waterproofed coat, but she still was shaken up by the impact.]

I think so... What about you? Are you okay?

[Her own condition gets pushed aside as she looks over him, concerned.]

Eh? I'm - fine.

[ His eyes flick past her to something down the street as he speaks, and the boy tries to clamber back to his feet a little more carefully. He offers her a hand, but he keeps looking down the street nervously, so he's unfortunately a little distracted and probably not the best help...

It's nothing personal, Minako. It's just that Oni... ]

[An Oni she unfortunately can't see. She takes the hand but notices his look and glances in the same direction. There's nothing there...]

Are you sure? That was a pretty bad fall.

[verytasty]

Y-yeah.

[ He backs a step away - less from her and more from what's behind her. ]

Um, do you [ he finally looks at her again ] know if there are any shrines nearby?

Yes, actually... there's one a few blocks away. Did you get lost?

[And is he sure he's not hurt somehow? He's still acting very out of it, almost like he was trying to get away from someone. But there's still no one else in sight.]

N-no, I -

[ Wait. Wait wait wait, he needs to act natural. Maybe if they're quiet, she can show him the shrine before the Oni catches up, and everything will be okay. ]

I just - showed up here. [ He almost says 'transferred' but that's not quite right, is it? Not if that dream was anything to go by... ]

Oh, I see.

[It doesn't make him running around so quickly to find a shrine make any more sense but... maybe he's just really religious?]

I can show you the way there if you'd like? I actually stop by pretty often.

[verytasty]

You could? That would be great, actually.

[ He manages a shaky smile, nodding his head gratefully. ]

Thank you.

[ And whoops he looked down the road again. ]

Okay then, follow me!

[...What is he looking at?

But figuring that out can wait, probably. She starts off at a brisk pace, deciding against grabbing his hand. That's a bit too forward for someone she's not actually friends with yet.]

Mm.

[ And follow her he does, though not without glancing over his shoulder before they round the next corner... ]

[ They're lucky, though. The Oni misses the road they turned on and stomps on by. But ... it'd still be safer in the shrine. Maybe there he could get his bearings, and she could explain to him a little more about this place... He's been a lot of places before, but this place is completely unfamiliar. ]

[The chances of you ever getting a break, Natsume, are slim to none. Because he did crash right into someone, but someone a little too similar to the youkai following him around. So while Ryoji's tumbling to the ground, getting buried in the snow, he's still in shock for an entirely different reason.

Almost as soon as they both land, Ryoji's popping back up, wiping slush from his eyes and-okay, yeah, he wasn't imagining things. That was a monster. The boy that had collided with him was running from a monster, so someone needed to protect him, right?

Ryoji shakily gets to his feet, then tries to unearth Natsume so he can pull him to a standing position as well.]

Hey! Please, get up! We need to get out of here!

[verytasty]

[ At first, Natsume's a little too dazed by the impact for it to fully sink in that Ryoji apparently sees the ogre too. He lets the other boy help him climb to his feet and stares at the Oni for a moment before nodding. ]

Let's go!

[ And with that he turns to start running again, as the Oni stomps towards them, club raised!

... It'll sink in that Ryoji can see supernatural things to in a minute. Don't worry. ]

[Ryoji's dragging Natsume as fast as he can, zig-zagging around in an attempt to lose the big oni. As long as that ogre doesn't decide to try to hit them with that big club, they should be okay.

...but who is he kidding, he's probably gonna try it. Still, there has to be somewhere safe they can go! If anything, he can try attacking him with Thanatos.

Until then, he's just going to keep pulling Natsume along, glancing back constantly to keep an eye on that club.]

aaaah--!

[ Well, he didn't expect to be jerked along quite this fast! He stumbles and nearly falls again, as Ryoji drags him along, but at least they manage to avoid any more icy spots. At first.

Unfortunately, the zig-zagging isn't the best idea in this weather, and soon enough Natsume goes sliding again, dragging Ryoji with him with a 'wooahh!'

The Oni catches up. ]

I'm gonna smash your head and eat you, human!

[ . . . this is not Natsume's day. ]

[Ryoji cries out, letting go of Natsume's hand as he slides a little farther away. Crashing down on the ice is painful, so it takes him a moment to recover. He's feeling a little dizzy, things are spinning...

And then he hears that and without even thinking he's transformed into Thanatos, hurtling towards the youkai sword first.

Yeah, he'll always protect his friends, including the people that aren't exactly his friends yet.]

[ Natsume is busy cringing away from the club when Ryoji transforms, but he feels the extra chill, senses the shadow and hears the noise, so he lowers his arms and stares. His eyes widen, and he does his best to scoot away even further - as if the Oni was bad enough, now there's some other powerful yokai hovering over him! And that kid with the scarf is gone, unless --? ]

Wh-what?

[notsogrimreaper]

[Unless that kid is the monster fighting off that ogre now? That may be a good bet. Especially since that monster is speaking now, still focusing on pushing the ogre back, having just enough time to yell out one word in Ryoji's slightly distorted voice.]

Run!

[verytasty]

[ Except Natsume doesn't run right away, still horribly confused ]

Who are --

[ But wait, yes. Running. Running is probably good. It's another couple moments before Natsume gets his act together and manages to scramble to his feet, backing a few steps away, still staring at the two of them before he finally turns to run.

That coffin-caped yokai(?) is like nothing he's ever seen before, but it has a mask... ]

[Well, it's about time. Ryoji would be relieved, if he wasn't fending off a giant, ugly, club-wielding yokai. Still, Thanatos is fairly powerful, so it isn't much longer before he forces the monster to retreat. Guess he wasn't that hungry for you, Natsume.

Ryoji reverts back to normal with a heavy sigh, cautiously walking down the path Natsume had taken. The other boy is probably terrified right now. Should he even be going to talk to him?]

[ Natsume's been chased by enough yokai that although he was definitely scared, he calms down relatively quickly - especially since, as luck would have it, they were just around the corner from a shrine, anyway. If Ryoji follows him far enough, he'll find Natsume slumped on a bench there, resting and catching his breath. ]

[notsogrimreaper]

[Okay... okay, at least he's safe, just tired. Ryoji allows himself a slight bit of relief before hesitantly approaching the other.]

...Are you okay?

[ Natsume startles a little at the voice, snapping his head up to look at Ryoji. He tenses a little, but he remembers that this guy did just save him, so he offers what he hopes is a reassuring smile. ]

Yes. Thank you. ... are you?
