TEST DRIVE MEME - LATE APRIL/MAY EDITION

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable Wards, the 13th Hour and Personas. A city that requires your aid in saving it.

SCENARIO 1: GOLDEN WEEK

Tied to the trees and parts of the houses are a bunch of fish-like kites. It turns Hinoto-Ri's battle=-ravage buildings into something a little more beautiful. By now, the air outside is comfortable to walk with a small shirt.

The booths in the Scorpio ward are busy trying to sell you their trinkets and crops. Will you get a mask? Will you buy and outfit? Will you just grab a little something to eat?

SCENARIO 2: Q'S CAR Q'S CAR THE SCENARIO FOR ALL AGES
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've now found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.

'Oh, and do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?!

Did you read the manual?...

...wait...

...do you even have a driving license?

SCENARIO 3: CHERRY BLOSSOMS

By now all of the cheery trees in Hinoto-Ri are in full bloom. And what a beautiful sight it is! The smell is heavenly and couples and families hurry to the park to be able to secure a place under one of them to be able to enjoy a picnic together.

What a perfect time to arrive in the city!

SCENARIO 4: AN ENEMY APPROACHES! COMMAND?!
13th hour. Although technically the 25th of each day, it is the time when this world seems to change, the entire city turning a shade of dark red, demons coming out, buildings shifting and dangers lurking at every corner.

But it's your job to make this safer. Just be careful of what you run into...

...this is rather confusing. But you've learned not to think that something you see is exactly as it might be. It could be far more dangerous and deadly than it lets on...

SCENARIO 5: THIS IS JUST AN ARRIVAL PROMPT
You've arrived into Hinoto-Ri! And wow, the weather is warming right now. Like an early hot breeze in spring. At least it makes you feel more at ease...unless you came here prepared for terrible weather. Sorry! Maybe if you can find someone who knows exactly what is happening, you'll be able to comfirm that it wasn't just a dream? Remember the man who said you were here as a special guest! This the city you're supposed to save, so let's find out more about it!

[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

Well... [There is a pause.

He could return to the question about monsters that he was about to tackle before the balls and the...hell.]

Gods! What are they?

Pokémon.

[Grimsley allows this word to hang for a few moments before explaining.]

'Pocket monsters'. In my world, we have creatures like this all over. Our culture is entirely dependent upon our partners - everything from farming to manufacturing to battling.

[You live in a weird world, dude. Give him a second to process this.]

You...battle with them. [Said slowly.] As in you ride them into battle? [That giant crocodile thing with a mask doesn't seem ridable.] Or they fight with you like a true partner, guarding your back against your enemies!

More the latter. ...But neither, really.

[Grimsley saunters up beside the three monsters and absentmindedly gives Krookodile an affectionate rub along the snout.]

You see, battling is something of a national pastime in our land. There's a colloquial saying we have - if the eyes of two trainers meet, they are required to engage in a battle to prove their strength. Even the youngest of children will invoke this rule.

[Wow, how brutal.]

A land of eternal strife where two souls, upon meeting, engaged in foreordained battle. [Said utterly sincerely.] Heroes against heroes, comrades against comrades.

[Grimsley allows himself a chuckle at that.]

I assure you, it isn't nearly so dramatic. For a few, of course, battling is a way of life; these are the elite who strive to become the best of the best. A Pokemon master. For most others, it's merely a hobby to perform every now and then for the fun of it.

The Pokemon themselves are a different story. They're fond of the activity, of course - Individual temperaments differ, but most seek to better themselves just as much as their trainers do. But in the wild... fights can be much more vicious in comparison.

So...not that many duels to the bitter end between bitter rivals?

More of a... 'until next time' between bitter rivals.

You wouldn't believe how many times Marshal and I have battled.
