TEST DRIVE MEME - LATE MAY - JUNE EDITION

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable Wards, the 13th Hour and Personas. A city that requires your aid in saving it.

(Note that these are prompts to give you ideas. Feel free to do something else completely like go shop or be in the apartments!)

SCENARIO 1: Q'S CAR IS NOW NUMBER 1
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've now found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.

'Oh, and do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?!

Did you read the manual?...

...wait...

...do you even have a driving license?

SCENARIO 2: A MIDSUMMER'S DAY

The green of the forest beckons you inside. But what will you find in a place that has an acknowledged demon population?

And who can imagine lurks at night...your life may be on the line.

SCENARIO 3: THE SONG WILL BE PLAYING IN YOUR HEAD
13th hour. Although technically the 25th of each day, it is the time when this world seems to change, the entire city turning a shade of dark red, demons coming out, buildings shifting and dangers lurking at every corner.

But it's your job to make this safer. Just be careful of what you run into...

...this is rather confusing. But you've learned not to think that something you see is exactly as it might be. It could be far more dangerous and deadly than it lets on...

...but it is pretty cute.

SCENARIO 4: THIS IS JUST AN ARRIVAL PROMPT
You've arrived into Hinoto-Ri! And wow, the weather is warming right now. Like an early hot breeze in spring. At least it makes you feel more at ease...unless you came here prepared for terrible weather. Sorry! Maybe if you can find someone who knows exactly what is happening, you'll be able to confirm that it wasn't just a dream? Remember the man who said you were here as a special guest! This the city you're supposed to save, so let's find out more about it!

[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

"You have no idea how wrong you are on that front..." She saw firsthand how powerful strong AI could be when given a form. "If anything, being restricted to a miniscule network is slowing JARVIS down far more. Until the entire earth is composed of digital data- all things both living and nonliving restructured into a form accessible to any programs- a body is necessary to interact with outside objects..."

Kim kind of trails off, looking kind of distant for a moment. She didn't want to be on this train of thought anymore... so she switches the topic to whatever crazy gibberish he's talking about.

"... You have titanium suits that you use to fight Norse alien gods... And yet you're called Iron Man?" The look on her face is almost smug.

It's kind of weird having someone to actually talk about this stuff to that wasn't-- Vanko or Hammer, honestly. But they were both really bad at conversation and probably couldn't make a properly functioning AI if he gave them the blueprints for free.

"Uh, yeah, press' idea, not mine." Kinda hard to tell if he was being sheepish or awkward or not. "Has a nice ring to it though, don't you think?"

Yeah he thinks it's kinda cool.

"Anyway, 'restricted' isn't really how I'd look at it; after all, it's not about what he can touch, it's about what he can think-- that's what he can do. Besides, most of our world is, kept track of on any given computer database. It's only as limited as you think it is."

It's really strange to Kim too... Usually when she rambles on about these kinds of things, people stop paying attention to her halfway through. She used to have the really terrible habit of rambling nonstop about something without stopping to take a breath in one long run-on sentence if she was particularly excited about something. And she has done her best to break that habit...

It wasn't too hard, really. She sort of stopped talking to people regularly after a while...

Even if this guy is an egotistical annoyance, he's not just keeping up with her but he's holding a conversation with her, about science. That kind of makes her happy, until the topic is forced back onto AIs and the digital world... With a bit of a sigh, Kim gets a distant look on her face again as she continues on about it. If only to prove him wrong.

"I saw a future where strong AI inhabiting robots resulted in exponential growth not only in their intelligence and technological advancements, but in the way the life on the planet worked. The technological singularity. Because they were robots, they were capable of affecting the environment around them and literally transform everything into a digital format, creating the planet into the largest network ever built. Trust me, compared to having every molecule on the planet linked like one giant 510 million square kilometer brain, encompassing all the knowledge and history of the earth, our modern day networks are microscopic at best."

"Singularity, huh."

Honestly... it sounded pretty great to him. They were already well into the internet age and beyond, but a imagining something like that...

He thought about it for a while-- well, it seemed like a while to him, but in actuality, it was probably only a moment or so, but he was deep enough in thought that you might think you would've lost him. Eventually though, he speaks again, with a bit of finality to his tone of voice.

"Nah. Wouldn't work out. Not for long-- too many variables, places where it could, easily go wrong. Too many people that'd just take advantage of it. Too easily weaponized."

He'd learned far too much about his fellow 'pioneers' to fall for that.
