▼ A city like no other...

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable Wards, the 13th Hour and Personas. A city that requires your aid in saving it, but sometimes in the strangest of ways...

▼ SCENARIO 1: A note to remember

Japanese school may be rather different for you, but you've been adjusting! However, something unexpected gets dropped desk (or foot locker) today.

Hmmm. This might be, well it would depend what type of person you are, actually. But the question is, how do you react? And most importantly, who do you accuse?

▼ SCENARIO 2: Teenbeat Magazine!

Today, you're browsing through the recently received news when you see the following message pop up on the screen:

LIKE OMG we've got the sexiest of the Visitors and who's totally dateable this Valentine's month!!! THE RESULTS ARE IN AND---

Naturally, upon scrolling down, you see a picture of yourself in nothing but your swimwear. And almost immediately, it seems there are people on the street beginning to glance in your direction...

They told you about Q's . Truth be told, you didn't expect him to ask you for this, but he needs a ~~guinea pig~~ no seriously guinea pig to test out his newest vehicle. It's the 13th Hour, and the night sky above is stained red. He looks at you before you start driving.

"Now do be careful. I've installed all sorts of weapons inside the old girl. If you could bring it back in one piece?"

No problem, you think, before you realize you have no idea what all these buttons do. Now what?

...Wait.

...Do you even have a driving license......?

▼ SCENARIO 5: A Night in Hinoto-Ri

The 13th hour. Although technically the 25th hour of each day, it is the time when the world seems to change - the entire city turns a shade of dark red, demons emerge from the shadows, buildings shift and dangers lurk in every corner.

But it's your job to make this safer. Just be careful of what you run into --

...oookay. This might be a little trickier than normal.

▼ SCENARIO 6: Arrival

It's getting colder with each passing day. The nights are getting longer, which the demons seem to like, but it makes the city that more dangerous. Of course you wouldn't exactly know that because you just got here.

Maybe if you can find someone who knows exactly what is happening, you'll be able to confirm that it wasn't just a dream. Remember, the man you talked with (butterfly-mask guy?) said you were here as a Special Guest. If this is the city you're supposed to save, maybe he should have given you a map or something. Time to start exploring on your own...

Takakage smiled. "That is good to hear. Though... do be careful. Stronger demons can ambush you at any time."

There was a pause as he cast around for something else to say.

"May you be a new Visitor? I have not met you prior."

It felt a little strange saying those words - he's been here longer than expected.

"That bad, huh? No worries, man. I've got it covered." He smiled - if there was one thing he knew, it was that he could handle a few demons.
...That last one had caught him by surprise, that was all! Nothing else to it!

As Takakage spoke on, though, he gave a nod. "Yeah. Just got here a coupla days ago. Still getting used to the place..." Still getting used to everything it meant. "It's my first night out." And it's preying on his mind that shouldn't he have gotten down to it on the first night he was here?

Takakage nodded as well. So this youth should be fine, that was a good thing. Some new Visitors had difficulty using their Personas effectively - his thoughts flash back to Saionji who nearly became demon roadkill - but this one should be able to handle it. Right?

"If you intend to go demon hunting, may I join you? It would be safer than going it alone." That, and he needed to ascertain if the other was truly able to hold his own. The demons have been growing stronger recently, after all.

"And... may I know your name?"

Safety? Well: his own wasn't the issue, here. But he was hardly about to let someone go off on their own into the midnight now they'd brought the subject up... never mind that he'd been the one to be rescued. Minor detail.

"Sure thing - I've got your back." He smiled. "Name's Kanji Tatsumi. How 'bout you?"

"I am Takakage Kobayakawa, retainer of the Mouri clan." He bowed slightly, his smile becoming more apparent. Kanji had a Japanese name - perhaps he was also from the Land of the Rising Sun. Or Japan, as the modern people called it. Would the youth recognize him?

He focused for a moment, and Koppa Tengu burst into existence again in the air above him.

"Do you have a particular area or target you intend to go after?"

"Gotcha." He'd never paid too much attention in history class. What was the point, what was the relevance? Mouri - that pinged something in his memory banks, but the rest of the name less so. Sounds kind of old-fashioned, sure, but past that...

He hardly seemed to be concentrating at all as he called on his own Persona, the hulking metallic figure standing proud beside the pair. "None yet. Haven't seen enough of 'em to make a plan."

Scanning around, though - "So how about I start with that thing over there?" he asked, pointing a creature out.

Kanji's Persona looked very powerful. The youth would be safe without backup - it was reassuring, to some extent. (Takakage, you need to stop worrying about everyone you come across.)

He followed Kanji's gaze and saw the demon prowling some distance away. It hadn't noticed the two of them yet, which meant they could sneak up on it. Judging from both Kanji and his Persona's appearances, they seemed to be physical attackers. As a magic-user, it could prove a little tricky.

"I am more used to spells and indirect attacks." He had noticed Kanji's.. rather metallic appearance. "Are you perhaps averse to water?"

If not, he could always use some other form of magic. Hydrokinesis was easier, though.

...Wait, what? Kanji's attention snapped away from the creature for a moment, and towards Takakage - "Wh-no, no way!" he responded, perhaps a spot too quickly. He genuinely didn't have a problem with it - but with the question's implications being what they were... "Why would I have a problem with somethin' like that? Why d'you think that?" he spluttered out, rather too loudly. "You wanna soak the thing, you soak the thing! I can work with that!"

Unfortunately, his panicked yell was enough to have the creature look in their direction, and start to move.

Kanji's reaction startled him. He flinched noticeably, reacting as if he'd expected Kanji to lash out more - but quickly regained his composure once he realized that the other wasn't going to do anything more than shout.

"I'm sorry!" He had forgotten the possibility of Kanji being quite sensitive to his... status (??). But he had to ask that - he didn't want Kanji to get hurt.

The strategist didn't have any more time to devote to this train of thought, however - the demon did notice them, and began bounding towards the do, flames leaking out of its mouth.

"It's coming!"

He quickly unsheathed his sword from its strap in his belt and slashed forward, sending a blue diagonal shockwave towards the canine.

As much as he could have kept ranting, the sight of the monster approaching pulled his attention away from his defensive flailing.
Almost as if a switch had been flipped, he stared it down, gaze cold and forceful - the command he shouted out to his Persona was just as loud as anything he'd yelled at Takakage, though.

"Fatal End!"

The giant figure started to charge forward to meet the demon, not far behind the flying shockwave.

The demon jumped over the shockwave quite easily, but couldn't avoid Kanji's Persona. Talos punched the demon with one fist, and it flew upwards -

- straight into a rain of needle feathers, courtesy of Koppa Tengu. The canine clawed at the air, managing to right itself and land on Talos' back. It raced down the large mechanical Persona, venting a burst of flame towards the two humans and running straight for them.

This demon was fast. Much faster than anything he had fought before. Even when it was close to defeat, it still dashed forward to attack.

Takakage touched the tip of his sword to the ground and slashed upwards, raising an energy pillar upwards.

Oof, nice recovery! He could almost feel the creature's claws creeping down his back. As it approached, though - there, that attack would catch it out, sending it head over heels. It'd recover quickly and gracefully enough, though - too quickly.
Well, nothing for it; as it approached melee range, Kanji himself ran forward, laying into it with a punch and a habitual shout.

The demon was bowled over again, but quickly recovered, bounding towards the two. Kanji ran up to meet it, punching the canine clean in the snout. It soared into the air, and Koppa Tengu put a few more needles in it for good measure. The demon landed awkwardly, trying to get up shakily before collapsing back onto the ground.

Takakage's book snapped open, and it hovered above his hand with its pages facing the demon. A brief energy beam shot out and pierced through their opponent.

The demon dissolved into a pile of glitter.

And that was that. A brief glance in its direction and Talos vanished into blue light - Kanji looked back at Takakage and gave a smile - bold, confident, now things were calmer.

"Good work, man."

"You too." Takakage returned Kanji's smile with a firm nod. He was quite impressed with the other's fighting capabilities. Unlike most warriors of his era, the strategist lacked physical strength, and had to compensate for it with quick thinking and magical ability.

He glanced around briefly - the area around them seems to be clear for now. They'd have to move out if they wanted to seek more demons.

"Shall we continue? Or would you prefer to rest?"
