January Character Test Drive Meme Post - How About A Nice Drive

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable wards, the 13th Hour and Personas.

SCENARIO 1
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've not found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.

'Do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?! Did you read the manual?...

...wait...

...do you even have a driving license?

SCENARIO 2
We hope you arrived in warm clothing because if not you'll sure be in for a surprise!

Hinoto-Ri is covered in snow! First you show up in a strange new place and now you're freezing cold. Maybe it's just a dream? But...you remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? Is this the city you're supposed to save?

[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

Had to do this. Light parallels.

[See that tall man in a suit of silvery-white armor? Yeah, you've got his attention just from sheer magical power.

But first things first. A lady requires assistance.]

Begging your pardon, but I believe I can be of assistance. I know of a nearby store which sells winter garments for a reasonable price.

[Ah, finally some chivalry.]

Why, thank you. Would you mind showing me the way?

[She can certainly sense that there's something different about him too, but first things first. It's cold out here.]

So I'm guessing you didn't get any more warning than I did before being pulled into this mess?
championofthesun: (Pledging my life)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2012-12-31 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all. Please, follow me.

[He offers a slight bow, then turns in the right direction and begins to walk -- slowly at first, picking up when he's sure she's following him.]

I am afraid I did not, no. I hope this, ah, sojourn doesn't keep you from more important affairs.

[He won't say it aloud, but he's actually glad he was brought here. He'd much rather do some good for humanity one more time than face deletion.]
poorfueleconomy: (But what if that star is not to come?)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2012-12-31 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
[She follows.]

Well as I understand it, we should all be returned to when and where we left when this is all over.

[They'd better be. Or she's asking Philemon for a refund.]
championofthesun: (Serious)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2012-12-31 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed, though being away for a long period of time can dull the mind regarding the task at hand. I myself will not be returning to anything of particular importance, but I am sure that that is not the case for other people here.
poorfueleconomy: (hoping it will come today)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2012-12-31 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not too worried. Being a goddess, I'm used to dealing with time in rather long stretches.

[Yeah she did just say that like she was talking about the weather.]

Sort of comes with the territory.
championofthesun: (Why must I be a ladies' man)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2012-12-31 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay. That got Gawain to stop.]

A...a goddess? I sensed an inordinate amount of power from you, but you say you are a goddess?
poorfueleconomy: (Waiting on a shooting star)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2012-12-31 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
That's right!

[She smiles proudly.]

I am Palutena, goddess of light.

...Well, back in my world anyway. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Sir...

[She leaves it open ended for him to fill in his name.]
championofthesun: (Pledging my life)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2012-12-31 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
O-oh, yes.

[With that, he gets down on one knee and places his right fist up against his left shoulder.]

Sir Gawain at your service, milady.
poorfueleconomy: (Can there be a guiding light)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2013-01-02 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh dear, this one is adorable. Bowing and everything.]

You don't have to be so formal. We've all been roped into the same mission after all.

I think the easiest way to get through it is for everyone to work together as equals.

[She pauses for just a minute. Just so she can spend a few seconds pretending that such maturity and professionalism is going to be a thing.

She knows it isn't.]

But of course that's just the optimism talking. I'm sure there are plenty of people around who will be dead set on making this harder than it has to be.

[personal profile] championofthesun 2013-01-02 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
As you wish.

[He stands up again and resumes his previous pace.]

Those who have power and privilege tend to cling to it tightly. The greater the prestige, the more tightly they cling.

However, I must agree with your sentiments. As a matter of fact, my king used a method to implement that. He gathered the greatest knights in his kingdom to form an elite group, and when the question of meeting at a table was brought up, he elected to make it a round table, so that no one could insist they should sit at the head.
poorfueleconomy: (hoping it will come today)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2013-01-02 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like your king was quite a visionary. I'm sure that was a hard sell to some of his knights.

[There's always someone in every group with too much ego for his own good.]

[personal profile] championofthesun 2013-01-02 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Some felt they were not getting what they deserved, but all fell into line with time.

[Though it didn't last, unfortunately, thank you Lancelot and Guinevere but Gawain isn't bringing that up, at least not yet.]

But I believe it was for the best. Our nation saw an era of peace that no outside influence could crush.
poorfueleconomy: (I know my heart should guide me but)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2013-01-02 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
That's good to hear. The humans in my world spend an awful lot of time fighting each other over the silliest things. So do gods, for that matter....

It's nice to know that there are places where things are working out.

[She is going to be polite and not ask him how long that lasted.]
championofthesun: (Serious)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2013-01-02 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Such is the problem with free will and emotion. Too much results in conflict. The matter at hand is a perfectly good example, in fact.
poorfueleconomy: (But what if that star is not to come?)

[personal profile] poorfueleconomy 2013-01-06 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
You mean the city? And here I'd heard that most of the threats here came from invading demons.
championofthesun: (Why must I be a ladies' man)

[personal profile] championofthesun 2013-01-06 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, pardon me. I meant the conflict that brought us here, not the inhabitants of the city.
