January Character Test Drive Meme Post - How About A Nice Drive
Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable wards, the 13th Hour and Personas.
SCENARIO 1
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've not found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.

'Do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?! Did you read the manual?...
...wait...
...do you even have a driving license?
SCENARIO 2
We hope you arrived in warm clothing because if not you'll sure be in for a surprise!

Hinoto-Ri is covered in snow! First you show up in a strange new place and now you're freezing cold. Maybe it's just a dream? But...you remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? Is this the city you're supposed to save?
[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

He took another step forward, undaunted as he stared at her. Perhaps his face was recognizable as close to anothers' under the tattoos.]
You're a Servant, but now you're not. Hmm... [There was a trail of his footprints left in the snow. His memories of being one with the Holy Grail were vague, dark ones he doesn't have a true sense of self. He had been reduced down to a "it" that was lost in an roiling abyss of shallow slumber, hatred, curses, sins, sealed into the earth and dreaming of the endless, unreasonable prayers, and yearning to grant them and to twist them. King Arturia's had been one of the loudest wishes before she had rejected it. And he remembered her killing him in the time loops, he remembered meeting her in the time loops. Yet, now;] Got the King of Knights' face, so why don't 'ya remember? What 'bout that wish of yours?
no subject
King of Knights? Wish? What are you talking about? I've no wish for the Grail beyond making sure no one uses it to cause another fire.
[And yet there's the guilt. That nagging guilt she can never quite place as she says that, the feeling she let someone down, that she wasn't the right one for.... what? It never made sense to her and yet it always hung around her like a fog she could never escape. Who was it that she had failed? She'd desperately like to know because that guilt constantly tempts her, whispers to her, tells her she could use the Grail to make things right, but what is it she needs to make right? What is it?!]
wow they're terrible
[He slowly took another step towards her, then dematerialized his twin fang-like daggers. And the moment the blades disappeared from his hands, the moment Arturia might have let her guard down even just slightly, he lunged towards the teenager and if she doesn't block him, grabbed the wooden stick and yanked it out of her grip, tossing it to the side before grabbing hold of her lower arms to immobilize her and leaning in close with a unstable little grin on his too-familiar face. If the familiar attacks, it risks hurting its master.]
... Did your wish mean so little to you, hmm?
[She was an enemy, by fact of existence. Everyone was enemies, by the fact of existence, everything was an object to be killed; he wanted to kill 'em. Yet he restrained himself and his unrewarded, unreasonable hatred. For the moment, his bloodlust was put on hold. Avenger acted purely out of self-interest, and in this case, his curiosity. She was being dishonest and he knew it; she had another wish.]
Hey, c'mon now. No one likes liars.
Terrible is always the best. Also, image link isn't working?
[Yes she does, yes, she does, but it confuses her so much she has no idea what it means. What is she meant to set right? Is it simply that she wants to alleviate this awful feeling that constantly gnaws at her guts? What is it that makes this feeling gnaw at her? Drive her to protect people in the hope she can make up for something she cannot remember?
Then he calls her a liar and it strikes a cord, the main cord she's had living with her uncle since he arrived here, the secrets she's been keeping, and she can't help but shout:]
I AM NOT A LIAR!
[And with that cry she swings her bokken at him despite knowing it's useless. At the same time, Ector unleashes Holy Arrow, which rains down upon Avenger even if she knows it won't work.]
Ahh yes. And huh? :c The image link is working fine for me...
[And then she shouts at him, angry and patience ebbing, and swings the wooden stick; it cracks him in the ribs right before the familiar lashed out with an attack of its own that slammed into his back. Avenger hissed animalistically in surprised pain.]
Geh----! [He skidded away from her blow but was otherwise unmoved. What was this compared to
rotting branch jammed into his throat, his tongue being pulled out, and how dearly, dearly his vocal organs had been destroyed, the agony of his tattoos being craved into his skin, his curses, all that fuckin' sineverything else. Avenger chuckled a bit, straightening up and glancing in annoyance at the familiar hovering at Arturia's side.] Strike a cord, did I? Well I dunno, I'm pretty certain that when you're not telling the truth, that's called ly-ing.Not for me. And I tried three different browsers and two computers to make sure it wasn't mine. 8C
[Except it feels like it. How many times has she almost told Shirou the truth only to be reminded he could get caught up in whatever trouble might come her way? How many times since coming here has she had to bite her tongue to keep from telling her uncle about the Grail War even when she sees his eyes trailing the Command Seals on her hand at the breakfast table? How many times had she gone to school, looked everyone in the eye, and let them think she's afraid of water because she can't risk people seeing her walk on it?
Ector disappears in a moment, spent. She'd have to summon him again if she wanted to have him attack again, but her bokken is in one piece, thankfully. She'd struck him so hard she thought she had broken it. Fortunately it held.
Unfortunately, so had he, and Arturia is wary. She knows she shouldn't let her emotions get to her in combat. She's the first person to tell people that, in fact, but this Servant had struck a cord she didn't realize she had and it only makes that awful guilt pile up and press on her brain and what is it that she wants to set right? It's going to drive her mad if this keeps up!]
|O what, damn, I'm sorry. It was an icon of Avenger being creepy and invasive of personal space.
[There's not a bruise on his heavily tattooed skin where she had struck him, and he's still smiling a little unstably because hey, this is sorta fun. Granted his idea of having fun was severely twisted and he still didn't understand why this girl stood before him as a Master instead of a Servant as he recalled it, but it wasn't boring.
Mentally, Avenger considered his chances; the girl with the face of the King of Knights had a combat familiar on her side, a wooden stick, and (presumably) an Archer at her beck and call she could order to shoot him full of as many holes in his body as there were in his soul. He, on the hand, had no Master, ineffective weapons, and no supply of prana to draw upon meaning he would have to ration his slowly dwindling energy. And even going all out, he was still the weakest Servant of the lot, so he risked being killed without any reassurance of being revived by the four-day time loop. Damn.]
I figured it was something like that. The text said enough for me to figure it out.
Maybe.
He tended to be quiet, barely speaking to her. If it wasn't for how forceful Rin could be or the need to explain the situation to Arturia when they first met, she had a feeling he would have disappeared and not said a word to her at all.
Maybe he saw in her whatever was wrong with her. Whatever it was she'd done to make her need to set something right. A wish.... realize her wish? What does he mean?]
My business is my business, Servant. If I choose not to tell people a few things, it harms no one.
[Except it did. It did. Something gnaws at the back of her mind. Keeping a key thing to herself led to a downfall, a collapse. She wasn't fit for the job, but what job? It presses on the back of her mind and the tip of her bokken briefly shakes as her hands do. She has to keep focused, has to try, but it's so hard with the insistent pressure building up, like a balloon is filling on the inside of her skull and pressing on her very consciousness.]
