January Character Test Drive Meme Post - How About A Nice Drive

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable wards, the 13th Hour and Personas.

SCENARIO 1
Well it's been a hell of a ride so far, but you've not found yourself somehow testing one of Q's vehicles.

'Do try to bring it back in one piece' he said. What are all these buttons again?! Did you read the manual?...

SCENARIO 2
We hope you arrived in warm clothing because if not you'll sure be in for a surprise!

Hinoto-Ri is covered in snow! First you show up in a strange new place and now you're freezing cold. Maybe it's just a dream? But...you remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? Is this the city you're supposed to save?

[[OOC - Welcome to the test post! Don't worry too much about Persona stats or your levels here, just come out and make up a scenario about what they are doing. Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

[It was something he'd never forget; that moment where everyone and everything stopped dead as Adachi all but outright confessed to murder right there in front of the entire Team and his uncle. Everyone was so shocked that he had blurted it out, that they hadn't been able to stop him from running into Namatame's empty room and jumping in the TV.]

I never said that. I don't know where you're getting this from, but I definitely never said that.

[The way he's talking is making Adachi more uncomfortable than he would like to admit. It isn't just that he's saying Adachi slipped up, but it's more the fact that he had an encounter with this kid that said completely the opposite, that he wanted to be on Adachi's side, that even if he didn't mean it he had actually destroyed evidence for him. The sting of that sort of betrayal, well... He doesn't want to admit it hurts as much as it does.]

Well, maybe I did, maybe for you that happened, but I don't remember it. I don't remember saying that, and I definitely don't remember going to jail. You kids never doubted me, at least if you did you never brought it up to me until the last second. And even then... It was just you, and it was different, so why don't you drop it already? Just stop.

[Yu opened his mouth to respond, but clicked it shut really fast. Everyone trusted him, no one doubted him... except him. Just him, and he was different...?]

[...things were clicking together in Yu's head, and it made his breath stick in his throat. He couldn't be implying what he thought he was... that was...]

[...was it crazy? He had admitted before doing anything for his friends, and Adachi was...]

[...would he seriously consider that choice?!]

[He found himself taking a step back, not realizing he had even moved until the back of his foot wobbled unsteadily over the edge of the stair.]

[It can't be helped: Adachi can't help the feeling of betrayal that seeps up inside him. He hates it, hates that connection he had with this kid came around just to bite him in the ass. He never asked for it, either. It was this brat that wanted to hang out with him from the beginning. Even from back then, at Junes. It was all this stupid kid.]

Shut up. Just shut up!

[Don't even start talking. There's no mask to hide behind now, just real, visceral anger directed right at Yu. Adachi doesn't act on it, though, an attestant to that bond they had, maybe, but for now he just turns around and begins to walk away.]

[Yu found himself unconsciously bracing himself, remembering the feel of the gun pressed against his forehead, and fully expecting that to be happening again... but Adachi just turned and left, like they had just had an argument between friends instead of confrontation between enemies.]

[...why did he feel guilty?]

[...why did he have a feeling he was going to regret that?]

[Because that's just what Adachi needs to hear to draw his gun and point it at the brat foolishly calling out to him. He doesn't hesitate, doesn't feel bad at all.

In fact, he laughs a little. What a stupid kid! "Wait"? Was he serious? Adachi has to laugh, now, and it comes out in bubbles. In dark, malicious bubbles bursting from his lips because this is just hilarious! This brat had the gal to sound guilty. He didn't imagine it, no, he definitely heard it. And it's hilarious!]

[Yu felt himself freeze entirely, that familiar fear settling in his gut. It was Magatsu Inaba all over again; the only difference was Adachi's Izanagi wasn't pounding on his in the background. Still, despite the fear making his stomach twist, the ice cold running up his spine, he kept himself calm on the outside.]

[A beat; he tightened his grip on his duffel bag slightly. It was a risk, but... he really believed it.]

That's right. We were friends. I don't think I need to spell out the key word in that sentence for you, do I? Who's to say what I will and won't do now that we're in a situation like this? To find out... You actually turned me in according to your story, you little shit. And oh, I bet I'm about to hear all about how truth and justice won out in the end, aren't I? How all's right with the world now that I'm supposedly behind bars, is that what you're going to say? What a load of bull.

There's more than just me that's wrong with the world. Believe me, I spend every day having to stare it down, everything that makes society corrupt and despicable. Spouses killing each other, children being abused, neglected, assaulted. People do "evil" everywhere you go. Just because one more killer's behind bars doesn't mean all the killers out there are gone. It doesn't even mean that sort of thing is never going to happen again, because guess what? It will. And it won't only happen again, it'll happen bigger and better than ever, because that's what we killers are after.

Sensationalism.

It's the downfall of our society. Your friend Rise's a victim of it, too, or maybe just an abuser of it. The media is the only way you can be remembered, the only way you can touch thousands more people than you could without it. And think about it, think about all those people who will remember the Inaba murders. One day, someone will think back, maybe even become inspired, and try to emulate it. Hopefully not as badly as that Kubo kid did, but we'll just have to wait and see. The point of it all is: nothing's going to change with me behind bars. Nothing's going to change with your change of heart, with your ridiculous sense of justice standing in my way.
